No, I haven't syndicated my blog with one of the nation's foremost newspapers in order to increase my commercial appeal. I am just noting that the fine folks at The Washington Post won the most Pulitzer Prizes this year, beating The New York Times by a single prize.
This means that the answer to Question #5 on the 2010 Prognostication Quiz is A. The Washington Post. Here are the Post-er boys and girls:
Ron
Craig
Beth K.
Missy
Gloria
Beth Z.
Zhiqi
Janette
Katie

Ryan's remarkable run has finally come to an end. After running off four correct prognostications in a row, he has finally showed some vulnerability. Is this a momentary lapse or the harbinger of a long, hard decline? Stay tuned to find out.Ryan maintains his lead at the top of the pack, but Ron, Craig, and Beth K. have advanced to within one point of him. The Wall Street Journal (Ryan's pick) was rather ingloriously shut out of the prizes for a second straight year.
Interesting note: Ron (our first-ever entrant from the fine nation of South Africa) is the father of last year's winner, Matthew. This year, sadly, Matthew has yet to score a single point.

Question 6 Update:
Next up is the FIFA World Cup in June. This is still anyone's game, but those who picked A. Brazil or B. Spain might have a slight edge, as their status as favorites seems to have grown in recent months. None of the top quartet picked A. or B., but of the folks with two points, Gloria, Beth Z., Rachel H., and Janette each picked one of the two favorites.
Question 7 Update:
Tiger Woods came very close, but failed to take first at Augusta. Most people guessed (very reasonably) that Tiger would take a little while to work back to top form this year. My aunt Diane and I were the only ones to go out on a bit of limb to guess A. The Masters. It serves us right to have now come crashing down.
Next up is the US Open in June. Again, no one in the top four picked B. The US Open, but Beth Z. and Rachel H. did, among those with two points.
Question 13-15 Update:
B. through Y. are all still alive and kicking. Who will be next to join A. Miep Gies and Z. J.D. Salinger? It's still very much anyone's game!
